In today’s video, we experiment with a traditional and highly effective method of catching rats in the field – smoking rats out of their burrows. In the sugarcane field behind us, rats have been causing serious damage, leaving behind many deep holes. We decided to choose one large burrow and start using smoke combined with spicy powder to drive the rats out. The fumigation process must be done slowly, with just the right amount of smoke. If the smoke is too strong, the rats won’t dare to come out. After just a few minutes, the first rats began crawling out, already dizzy from the smoke, making them easy to catch. By continuing the smoke, the entire nest eventually came out, staggering and quickly trapped. This method helps farmers protect their crops from rat infestation in a safe and effective way.
