We want that realization that the sin in our lives to which we cling and which we even love, is ugly and destructive. We need to see ourselves as we really are, not with complacency, thinking we are “good enough” for the kingdom of Heaven. We are not good enough. We need, like the Prodigal, to go to our Father, repent of our sins, and take action to turn our lives around, even when that means one small step at a time.
