Unlicensed minor drove 118 mph before fatal Toms River crash, police say | News 12

A minor is facing numerous charges after a fatal crash Friday night in Ocean County. The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 37 and Route 166, right before 11 p.m. Police say a white BMW driving at a high speed crashed into a black Toyota Camry. There was a large emergency response. The driver and front seat passenger of the Toyota Camry died at the scene. Two backseat passengers were severely injured and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. They are listed in critical condition. The driver of the BMW, an unlicensed minor, was uninjured and was detained by police. Two passengers in the BMW were treated and released. Roads were closed Sunday morning on Route 37 and Route 166, blocking off traffic at the intersection while police investigated.
