Italian Renaissance, born in Florence in the early 15th century, traveled to Rome toward the turn of the 16th century, and to Venice toward the middle of the 16th century. The great genius of the long-living Titian determined Venice's artistic sway, but other artists contributed to it in no small measure. The Bellini family, as well as Giorgione, were Titians teaches, and the likes of Tintoretto and Veronese were serious competitors. To the Florentine form, the Venetians added brilliant color, and the mixture produced some of the most gorgeous art the world had ever seen.
