The next dark moon begins March 18 and carries us through April 16. Every lunar cycle has a personality, an archetype that helps us understand the kind of energy we are moving through together. This one is the Magician’s Moon. On March 18 the Sun and Moon meet at eight degrees of Pisces and form a powerful stellium with Saturn and Neptune. When this many planetary forces gather together in the same part of the sky, energy concentrates. The sky is focusing our attention on a single field of experience. Pisces governs imagination, intuition, dreams, and the invisible forces that shape reality beneath the surface. Neptune dissolves the boundaries of the ordinary world while Saturn asks us to give structure and form to what we sense but cannot yet fully see. When Saturn and Neptune work together something remarkable happens. Vision becomes structure. Imagination begins to take shape in the material world. Mercury is also a key part of this lunation. Mercury is retrograde at the time of the New Moon and will station direct within two days. This means realizations that arrive around the New Moon may quickly begin to move into action. Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio is squaring the lunar nodes, creating tension along the axis of destiny. When Lilith challenges the nodes instinctual truths rise to the surface. The parts of ourselves that refuse to remain hidden begin to speak. The Magician’s Moon invites participation. Ideas move. Conversations carry unusual power. Inspiration appears where it did not exist before. Something that once felt impossible may suddenly look achievable.
