Quality of Care Challenges in IHS

OIG is committed to assisting IHS in strengthening patient care in IHS hospitals. Through our studies and evaluations, OIG identified five overarching challenges that IHS faces to providing quality care, which we highlight in this video. The five overarching challenges are: i. Lack of Formal Structure, Roles, and Policies ii. Not Using the Full Complement of Quality Improvement Methods iii. Maintaining Skills to Treat the Most Complex Inpatient Cases iv.
