Hey, everybody. Ryan here at Etrailer. Today on our 2019 Ford F-150 we're gonna be showing you how to install the Curt Custom Fit fifth Wheel rail kit. But before we get into that, why don't we take a minute check this out and make sure it's gonna work for you. Nowadays, these half ton trucks are really capable and so people are using them to do some pretty heavy duty towing. And it makes sense, you know you can pull those bigger trailers around and then when you're not towing, still get decent fuel mileage and everything else. And that's where a rail system like this is gonna come into play. So this is going to allow you to drop in a fifth wheel head and pull a fifth old trailer down the road. Pretty standard, you know. A lot of different fifth fuel heads are gonna work with this. Like I said, industry standard rails. So nothing too crazy there. Something I wanna mention though with the beds now being so short, so this is a five and a half foot bed, whatever hits you do end up getting, you're gonna want one that has the ability to slide back or even have, you know, a different pen box on your trailer like the side winder for example, that that moves around. And I say it because you don't have a ton of clearance up here. So, when you go to make those tight turns and you got your fifth wheel back here, you know, chances are are pretty good you might make contact at the cab corner or the trailer and then damaging. So definitely, something to keep in mind. And that kind of brings you to my next point on this five and a half foot bed where the front of our rail is, you might have like a foot up here so I know some people ask about toolboxes and things like that. With this setup, chances are pretty good you're not gonna be able to put a toolbox up here and be able to use your hitch. These are the square holes here where the hitch is gonna drop in. And this is what I was talking about when I was saying industry standard. So, just about any hitch from the past decade and then some should drop in here and work. They're not gonna sit too high above the bed, you know a little ways up but not a huge deal. You can still put stuff in the bed of your truck and use it and and things like that. As far as the quality of these, I feel like Curt. the last handful of ones that I've done have been better than they we're a few years ago. The hardware's nice, everything's put together. As far as a fitment goes, this particular one went together very nice and it it wasn't too bad. So, I think they're definitely making an improvement as far as that goes. And you know, if this is something you're thinking about, you know, doing or if you're pulling that heavier trailer with a half ton, there could potentially be some other upgrades you might want to consider as well. So for example, today our neighbor, we did the rails. We we're putting in obviously the hitch. It's an A16, I believe, Curt hitch. And he has the sideliner pin box and then we're doing airbags, airlift airbags, as well as the compressor. So he kind of has the whole package there and it's gonna make his towing experience, you know, that much better. Really easy to use and smooth. So just something to consider if that's what you're thinking about doing. But other than that at the end of the day, a nice kit, you know, like I said, it went together good. Didn't really have any issues. The hardest part is probably just torquing all the bolts down 'cause you don't have a ton of room to work under there when you're trying to do that. But something you gotta do one time, right. But if you'd like to see how that's done feel free to hang around. We'll go ahead and put the hitch on together. Now, our shield is gonna be held in place with three 13 millimeter head bolts just like this one here. Pull that one out and then there's gonna be two just like it up top here. We can lower this out of the way and set it off to the side until we have all of our parts installed. Prepare our side plates and our in bed rails. They give you some of these stickers with everything. And you want to put this on any surface of the hitch that's gonna be in contact with aluminum since we have an aluminum bed. You can refer to your instructions but that's pretty straightforward, you know. All these spots here, I'm gonna give you long ones you can put on the and bed rails. So, go ahead and just prep everything. That'll make it a little bit ea
