Episode 26 - Part One - The Slinky Clubavision Ball at The BIC, Bournemouth. UK - Full Version First Broadcast - Friday 4th December 1998 After a gruelling shoot schedule at The Southport Weekender the previous week, we now travelled down the M3 to the picturesque coastal town of Bournemouth in Dorset for what was to be one of the biggest and best events of 98, The Slinky CLUBavision Ball. Myself and my PA Sarah arrived on the Friday so we could sample the delights of the Opera House, Slinky's weekly home, great night and hospitality from Slinky Dick and Nick, but too many Jager's were consumed after hours and boy did we regret that, just trying to inflate our "studio" sofa at the petrol station in freezing cold conditions feeling ropey as fck the afternoon of the event was a mission. The expected 4,500 clubbers came and duly conquered the dancefloors, and being professionals we put our work heads on and documented the event till the morning. I hope you get the feel for the event from this episode, with only two cameras ( and no camera phones back then) there's only so much you can witness and film, events of this size could have used 4 cameras, but we had a seriously tight budget per show hence only two.
