What is a PAR bulb? What is an GU10 base? In this episode of Spec. Sense, Vance explores reflector light bulbs. You'll learn how to measure and how to choose a light bulb. Reflector light bulbs are usually found in canned, recessed and track lighting. The BR-Shape (bulged reflector), PAR-Shape (parabolic aluminized reflector) are the most common reflector shapes and typically use the E26 medium screw base. The MR-Shape (multifaceted reflector) is also common and use the GU10 twist lock or GX5.3 pin bases. All light bulbs use a code to describe the shape, size and base type.
