Man shot in chest during argument at Seattle's waterfront; suspect taken into custody

An adult man was shot in the chest at Seattle's waterfront Thursday evening, according to the Seattle Police Department. The incident occurred at about 4:10 p.m. in the 900 block of Alaskan Way, police said. The SPD said when they arrived at the scene, they found a 68-year-old man in a wheelchair suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said the incident began with a verbal argument. According to police, the 68-year-old became upset that the suspect took an item of his. The 68-year-old then pulled a knife and motioned towards the suspect before being shot in the chest, according to the SPD. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was reported to be in "serious but stable, conscious and alert."
