How do we conserve our artefacts at the British Motor Museum

In December last year the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust acquired this Mini model. With the very important upcoming birthday for Mini, 60 years, we have a great opportunity to get it out on display to celebrate! Normally when objects from storage go out of display they go through a cleaning process and are thoroughly checked over and recorded. Here our Curatorial Assistant is using a dilute Vulpex cleaning solution as a non acidic and corrosive agent to help remove excess waxes, dirts and oils.
