In order to achieve the goal, the Irish periodically had to enter into alliances with the Scots, the Spanish, the French, and the Germans. In this struggle, it was time to look for "saints" on someone's side. Rebels committed atrocities against English settlers, Catholics exterminated Protestants, Fenian revolutionaries carried out terrorist attacks against British politicians. For their part, the Irish still remember how Oliver Cromwell "pacified" their country with fire and sword, the British government allowed the Great Famine, mass forced emigration from Ireland and brutally suppressed the "Easter Rebellion" in Dublin. In the end, the guerrilla struggle of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) led to the gradual gaining of independence - from the status of a dominion to the Republic of Ireland, which even left the British Commonwealth. However, part of Ulster (Northern Ireland) remained part of the United Kingdom, which caused a new conflict lasting several decades. "History Without Myths" is a popular channel about the past of Ukraine and the world without embellishments and falsifications. The experts of our programs are professional historians (doctors and candidates of historical sciences, professors, associate professors, employees of scientific institutes and historical museums), each of whom is a specialist in a specific issue. The topics of the issues cover all periods and cover a wide range of issues: political, military, economic history, history of international relations, history of culture, arts and sports, biographies of prominent personalities.
