Title: স্তন্যপায়ী প্রানির মাতৃস্নেহ | Maternal Care of Mammals Wildlife in nature exhibits abundant maternal care. It is natural and pure. Every wild animal protects its young from various adversities. Different wild animals grow up slowly under their mother’s care. Besides maternal care, many wild animals also show paternal care. This wonderful display of fatherly and motherly care varies by species and is evident among our country's wildlife. Among these wild animals, mammals exhibit deep maternal love. As gregarious animals such as elephants, monkeys, langurs, hoolock gibbons, tigers, and deer, are dependent on their mother's milk, their bond sustains for a very long time. These animals roam in small or large groups in different forests, and almost every group has young members. The elephant, the biggest terrestrial animal in our country, is found in evergreen forests. Elephants live in herds. A female elephant gives birth after a 22-month pregnancy. From birth, the calves stay with the herd. They remain close to their mothers and feed on their mothers' milk. Even if the calves go a little far away to play, they quickly return to their mother when sensing danger. They find a safe shelter in their mother’s affection. As it grows, the calves begin to move independently. Elephants are matriarchal, which means a female leads the herd. The mother elephant is responsible for leading the group and caring for the calves. Compared to adult elephants, calves are very small, but with their mother’s care and affection, they grow quickly. The Capped Langur also lives in trees in troops. These groups consist of 9 or 10 members, including one male. Female langurs go through a seven-month pregnancy before giving birth. All the female langurs in the group help raise the young, and the bond between mother and young sustains for a long time. A mother langur can leap from tree to tree while carrying her baby on her chest. She keeps the babies close to her chest until they grow up. Among mammals, tigers and deer also keep their young with them all the time and protect them from all dangers. Orangutans take care of their young until they are 9 years old, which is the longest among mammals that nurse their young. To prepare for raising cubs, female polar bears increase their body weight by about 200 kilograms even before getting pregnant. Breeding and nurturing the young are vital for any animal to sustain. Due to the maternal love in nature, helpless young animals can grow up. However, the destruction of forests and bushes currently leads to the loss of wildlife habitats. Many wild animals are becoming endangered and are on the brink of extinction. Every wild animal born in nature is significant and has the right to grow up in a safe, healthy environment. We must ensure a suitable environment for breeding to protect the remaining species. Only then will we continue to witness this pure maternal care among wildlife, and all creatures, including humans, will thrive with the blessings of Mother Nature.
