My experience getting a SIDE OF BEEF (exciting day :) from Elite Beef in Central Texas and filling my freezer! A “Side of Beef” is half a cow–about 250 pounds of meat. I picked it up and fit the boxes into the back of my Subaru easily. It’s flash frozen, already processed into cryo-vac’d, heavy-duty freezer wrap (except the 1-lb “chubs” of ground beef–they are sealed with non-metal crimps). I ordered a 16-cubic foot freezer, and it fit perfectly with room to spare!
