End of the Line - Eviternity II OST (MAP02)

"End of the Line" from MAP02 of Eviternity II. This is one of the last tracks I wrote for the project, it was a bit daunting because MAP02 had to properly introduce the megawad after the more cinematic MAP01, and the music would obviously dictate a lot of the overall feeling. Something with fairly high energy felt like the right approach to kick off the action, but there needed to be an air of sadness about it, for what has become of a once-beautiful realm, now withered and decayed. I decided it would help to include elements of other tracks, pulling melodies from "The Infinite Labyrinth" (MAP01), the Eviternity 1 final boss track, and something else from later in Eviternity 2. The MIDI was written in about ten hours on 25 November, 2023. After nearly 5 years working on this project, it still feels surreal that it's finally out there.
