Bacterial Conjunctivitis is more common in children. It can be distinguished from other forms of conjunctivitis, especially from viral conjunctivitis, as the mucoid discharge is secreted from eyelids i.e. gluing of the eyelids. This V-Learning™ lecture on Bacterial Conjunctivitis illuminates its different clinical types including acute, hyperacute, and chronic bacterial conjunctivitis. Likewise, comments are given on gonococcal conjunctivitis and angular bacterial conjunctivitis. Infective conjunctivitis is also the mainstay of this lecture. ▬ 📌 Bacterial Conjunctivitis When the conjunctiva is seen under a microscope, its Epithelium, adenoid layer, and fibrous layer are observed. Then the arrangement of epithelial cells is taken into consideration. Likewise, information about the Blood supply of conjunctiva is delivered. After discussing the normal structure of conjunctiva, its infectious state is elaborated. The mode of infection of bacterial conjunctivitis is exogenous, endogenous, and locally spread through flies, Blood, and infected lacrimal sacs respectively. Its various clinical types are discussed in this lecture. One of its types is acute bacterial conjunctivitis. Next is the hyperacute bacterial conjunctivitis. Alongside, gonococcal conjunctivitis is also discussed whose causative agent is Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Corneal involvement, iridocyclitis, and endocarditis are its complications. Symptoms of chronic bacterial conjunctivitis include mild chronic redness or Red Eye and mucoid discharge. One more type of bacterial conjunctivitis is angular bacterial conjunctivitis, a condition in which skin may show eczematous changes after mild-grade chronic Inflammation. ▬ 🎬 5500+ sqadia.com Medical Videos ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 👩🏻⚕️ Accessible Medical Student Education 24/7/365 💡 Simplifying Medical Learning 💪 Study Hard, Dream Big, Achieve More
