You will definitely want to watch this video all the way through! On Valentine's Day, my family and I found ourselves at the 96 Ranch near Florence, Arizona. We were tipped off on this place by a friend and once we did a little additional research about it, we knew we had to go. This ghost town of a ranch is located about 2 hours southeast of Arizona's capital, Phoenix. If you Google 96 Ranch in your Google maps app, be sure it directs you through the route down highway 79 and not across the Florence Kelvin Highway/Barkerville Rd. Since we were coming from the East valley, Google maps immediately put us on the Florence Kelvin Highway route and we ended up in the middle of the desert on state trust land at a dead end. After, I might add, driving Campy through some pretty sketchy terrain. He now has a new set of Arizona Pinstripes! If you take the correct route, down Highway 79 to 96 Ranch road, you can get out to the ranch with even a two wheel drive vehicle. Listen along throughout the entire video as I narrate - I touch on things like history of the ranch (what little known History that there is), spooky sounds we heard while we were there, and what I feel like some of the remaining structures on the farm were used for. Not to mention the whopping price that the ranch was listed for sale at not that long ago.😳😳😳 It is since been taken off the market. If you go pay the ranch a visit, please use caution as much of it is in a very dilapidated state. Some of the structures have holes in the ground, glass everywhere, and the roofs on every structure are wobbly at best. Also, please do not do what some visitors have done and leave graffiti all over the structures the current owner of the property, which I believe is a real estate company, leaves the gates open for people to pay this beautiful piece of land a visit but they would really appreciate people leaving no trace and leaving things as they were when they arrived. We plan on going back to this location in the near future and spending a night out there. There is dispersed camping in the areas surrounding the ranch.
