Our family spent 6 days in Ocean El Faro (Built 2019)and had a blast! The hotel had so much to do: -lazy river -water park -beach snorkeling (lots of fish) -bowling -nightly entertainment The best part, very few people. We never have to worry about not getting a seat on the beach or having to wait in line. The specialty restaurants don't need reservations except for Sakura which has designated seating times since it's teppanyaki. The specialty restaurants, in my opinion, aren't great. However, they do have an enormous buffet that has a rotating dinner menu. I love their extra-large swimming pools and their well-built lazy river is a hit with the kids. Although this is a somewhat newly built hotel, it's not well maintained. Some stuff in our room (like door handles, bathroom lock, balcony swing) was broken and never repaired. The waterpark needs a fresh coat of paint as the colours are already faded from sun exposure. The rooms are not soundproof. If you are a light sleeper like me, bring earplugs. Past the adult side of the beach is a little natural pool with small waves and lots of fish. It's shallow, and suitable for kids and babies to swim in. I had so much fun snorkeling there and was able to see a few hundred fish, crabs, and many other sea creatures. We look forward to visiting again.
