I was going to make this compilation a while back beifre the previous cantilever was removed and delayed it until the current new one was installed. The First few clips of this video which are the first 5 minutes will be in low quality since I don't have the original files for those videos. Over the past 9 years the Stockton Boulevard and 34th Street intersection railroad crossing has had a lot of changes. There were changes also before I first filmed this crossing before 2013 to bells, lights, gates, gate mechanisms etc in this video at the start and throughout aren't original to the signals. The changes after 2013 are all in this video. All changes will be listed in the videos bottom left corner. This crossing was SACRT last crossing to have a pair of Incandescent Lights and also became the last crossing to have a mechanical bell on the system also after the new cantilever came with a WCH Mechanical Bell. This crossing is mostly made of former Southern Pacific equipment mixed with SACRT's as before the light rail there was an SP line through here and SACRT kept the signals when the light rail was built in 1987. Of course the signals arent with their original equipment as iver the years SACRT updated the signals. This crossing has had four cantilevers in one spot as right turning trucks coming off 34th St onto Stockton Blvd damaged three of them. The spot is the signal I was standing under in the close views. Sometime between 2002 & 2004 the original SP 1970s Harmon Cantilever was destroyed by a truck and SACRT replaced it with a back then newer style Harmon Cantilever was repeatedly hit which lasted till 2020 when a repeat accident happened where a trucks trailer pulled the mast of the Cantilever destroying it. A new Progress Rail Cantilever was put in its spot in September 2020 which afterwards took on a few other side swipes and hits from smaller trucks and once again a year later in October 2021 a repeat accident happened again with a truck damaging the mast causing a slight lean so the cantilever had to be taken down. In January 2022 SACRT Installed several signs on 34th Street telling trucks they can not turn right onto Stockton Blvd and can only turn right onto R St and then Stockton Blvd and hopefully trucks won't attempt again causing a repeat accident. In March 2022 the fourth cantilever was installed with a surprise also as a new WCH Mechanical Bell came with it returning Mechanical Bells to this crossing and onto the Sacramento Regional Transit Light Rail System as a whole. I wish SACRT & Caltrans build a concrete barrier or at least put a barrel to protect the cantilevers mast.
