"No good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless." Psalm 84:11 After Joni became paralyzed from her diving accident, she was counting on the hope that she would one day walk again. When natural means didn't seem to work such as physical therapy and medical treatment, she began to ask God for miraculous healing. Years went by, and Joni remained paralyzed, no matter how many healing services she attended, how much she read the Bible, or how faithful in prayer she was. And she began to question God asking: "Why would you withhold this good thing from me? Having my legs back?" Joni began to realize that the perseverance and joy she exuded in her wheelchair was allowing her to be a beacon of hope for others. Despite the lack of physical healing, God was accomplishing a deeper spiritual healing. Now Joni runs an international non-profit for people with disabilities called Joni and Friends, and her life in a wheelchair continues to bring hope to the many around the world.
