Manhattan Sound was formed in Hackney by Clive James in the heart of East London (E5) feat Clive James, Little T and Cass. They were known at the time for their late-night afternoon party blues dances. Cass is the main DJ in the sound who classifies himself as a music lover, record collector of vinyl records (his collection of music is absolutely mammoth) one of the original Rare Groove connoisseurs. Playing in seven room dances back in the 80s by themselves, to buying and selling beats. Revealing past stories of his visits to record fairs, through to his definition of rare groove, hiding record labels to the love that was shown to him as a novice in the game by DJ Skanker and the crowd reaction to the first time he played High Rhythm On The Loose.
