Mt. Baker Flight | The Most Active Volcano in the Pacific Northwest?

I've flown for 30 years and NEVER saw a mountain so massive up close like this! It actually took my breath away!! Mount Baker, also known as Koma Kulshan or simply Kulshan, is a 10,781 ft (3,286 m) active glacier-covered volcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington in the United States. Mount Baker has the second-most thermally active crater in the Cascade Range after Mount St. Helens. About 30 miles (48 km) due east of the city of Bellingham, WA, Mount Baker is the youngest volcano in the Mount Baker volcanic field. Flying around the summit of Mount Baker has been a goal since we moved to Bellingham, Washington. I never could have imagined a few short years ago that this flight would be made in our own airplane, Ginger The Plane, a very special Cessna 172. Mountain flying is serious business and this flight was planned, this day was chosen for it's light winds at altitude (15 kts.), a day later the summit was enveloped in a blizzard with 65 Kt. winds.
