JOIN ME ON PATREON: / lowenduniversity --------------------------------------------------- ➡️ I thought Hot Water Music was some record label for awhile, and I’m glad they aren’t because this was one of the catchiest, emotive songs I’ve heard in a long time. You all unanimously requested “Drag My Body” from the band’s 2012 release “Exister”, and I feel so fortunate to have been introduced to both the band and the BRILLIANT bass playing from Jason Black. Flat out, this song is a masterclass on "forward" bass playing that doesn't ONCE overpower the rest of the band, and instead elevates the song into a full-range melodic masterpiece. I discuss Jason's approach to playing bass chords, his clever timing when injecting tasty bass fills, and how his grooves gradually blossom as the song moves along. I could write another paragraph about vocalist Chuck Ragan - his voice instantly grabbed me within seconds. I listened to this song 3 more times back-to-back right after I finished this video, and I haven't done that in quite awhile. 😍🙌🏼 --------------------------------------------------- 0:00 Intro 0:54 Reaction / Analysis 15:56 Final Thoughts --------------------------------------------------- 📺 WATCH MORE: ▶️ Reacting to AFI: • AFI used to sound like THIS??!
