For children ages 1 to 13, motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death. From 2010 to 2014, 3,181 children under age 13 were killed and an estimated 601,000 children were injured in car crashes. NHTSA, in partnership with the Ad Council, has created the three-part video series "Wide World of Car Seats" to educate parents and caregivers of children ages 1 to 13 about car seat safety. The PSAs cover how to determine what type of car seat your child needs, how to choose the right car seat for your child's age and size, and how to properly install a car seat.
