#davaocoastalroad The Davao City Coastal Road, also known as the Coastal Bypass Road, is a major infrastructure project designed to serve multiple purposes for the city. Traffic Decongestion: Its primary goal is to provide a four-lane alternative route, approximately 17.8 kilometers long, to help alleviate the chronic traffic congestion on main city thoroughfares like MacArthur Highway. The road connects areas from the southern part of the city (near Toril/Bago Aplaya) to the central districts (up to R. Castillo St. in Agdao). Coastal Protection: Beyond being a highway, the elevated structure is designed to function as a coastal shore protection and a storm surge barrier/breakwater, safeguarding seaside communities from sea wave actions, water surges, and shore erosion.
