Routemasters Return to Central London: Route 38 Heritage Running Day - 14th March 2026

On the 14th of March 2026, the London Bus Museum held their first heritage running day of the season, which saw AEC Routemasters and Regent IIIs return to Route 38, running between Victoria and Clapton via Piccadilly Circus, Clerkenwell, Dalston and Hackney as a free extra service. Some journeys were even extended up to Epping, recreating the pre-60s version of the route. Route 38 began in 1912, running between Victoria and Leyton via Hackney, and has seen various extensions and cutbacks, with today's route running up to Clapton Pond.
