Diwas Gurung @ T Time Session

Diwas Gurung is a New York based musician currently residing in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Nepal, he arrived in the US in 2002 to attend Ithaca College. In Ithaca he became the founding member of the progressive rock band Ayurveda with which he released two full-length album and four EP’s. Since the band disbanded in 2011, Diwas has been involved with many new projects including Photoreal with Dan Halperin and The Rungs with his wife Mandy Gurung. As a solo artist he has recorded and released a full-length album Rato Mato and two EP’s Adhunik and Jharana Sahar. Over the years, his Neo Nepalese folk sound has been extremely well received and has gathered a large fan base in Nepal and in the US. Diwas Gurung can be regarded as the pioneer of the Neo Nepalese folk sound, making soulful and compelling sounds, which he draws from global influences.
