Manimahesh Kailash Yatra was my 2nd Panch Kailash Yatra. Manimahesh trek starts from a small village called Hadsar. To reach hadsar first you have to drive to Chamba, which is a hill city in Himachal. From Chamba you have to drive to a place called Bharmour. Hadsar is 12 KMs from Bharmour. Once you begin your trek from Hadsar, you walk alongside Bhujila river. First one kilometer trek is relatively flat, but then the trail becomes steep. After 6 KMs of trek from Hadsar you reach a place called Dhancho. Dhancho is a major resting point of this yatra. Most people stay here for first night and trek to Manimahesh next morning. Once you reach Manimahesh, you will get enchanted seeing its divine beauty. One side you will see Manimahesh peak of Himalaya. Known as Chamba Kailash, it’s one of the revered Panch Kailash peaks which is believed to be the mystical abode of Lord Shiva. There are lot of mysterious stories about this peak. At its base lies the divine Manimahesh Lake, a significant part of pilgrimage during Aug–Sept. You can do Manimahesh yatra solo, but in everchanging weather of high mountains its better if you trek with a guide.
