Northeast Wisconsin had 25 wrestlers make the trip to Madison for this year's WIAA individual state wrestling tournament. Among the 25 wrestlers 12 grapplers from the girls division and across all three boys divisions are heading home with hardware, some repeating as champions and some standing atop the podium for the first time. Here's a list of individual state wrestling champions from Northeast Wisconsin: GIRLS DIVISION • 100: Freedom junior Katherine Cook defeated Holmen's Aini Anderson by major decision, 12-4, to finish the year with a 41-7 record. • 114: Lena senior Taylor Whiting became the first four-time state champion in Wisconsin girls wrestling history, winning by a 10-5 decision over Manitowoc Lutheran's Emjay Neumann. She finishes the year with a 16-0 record. • 132: Menasha senior Lillie Banks became a three-time state champion after pinning Fort Atkinson's Hayli Fletcher in the second period. She finished the season with a 51-1 record. • 185: Wittenberg-Birnamwood junior Brooke Huffman, a two-time state champion, made it three with a third period pin of North Crawford/Seneca's Adrianna Louge. Huffman has a chance to be a four-time state champion. BOYS DIVISION 1 • 132: Bay Port senior Alois Schlumpf picked up three points on a takedown in the final 10 seconds of regulation, going on to win by a 4-1 decision. Schlumpf became the Pirates first state champion since 2022. • 138: Menominee junior Aidan Aure defeated Hortonville senior Cashtyn Botting by an 8-3 decision. • 144: Luxemberg-Casco junior Carson Neubert won via a 3-2 decision, going back-to-back in Madison after winning a state title at 126 last year. • 157: Neenah senior Declan Koch, who finished second the past two seasons, won via a 4-0 decision to end his high school career with a state title and 51-0 record. • 175: Kaukauna senior Liam Crook collected his third-straight state championship, winning via a 15-0 tech fall. The UVA commit finishes his senior season with a 53-1 record. BOYS DIVISIONS 2 AND 3 • Division 2, 285: Seymour senior Cael Leisgang finishes his season with a 41-0 record and state championship. Leisgang is just the third state champion for the Thunder. • Division 3, 150: Brillion went eight years without a state champion until junior Colton Klug ended that drought, winning via a 9-1 major decision over Pardeeville's Kingston Galetka. • Division 3, 190: Mishicot junior Owen Schact dominated his opponent, winning in a 14-5 major decision to become Mishicot’s fifth-ever state champion and first since 2022.
