So at long last good people… #marveltelevision has FINALLY… After nearly 6 YEARS, given us the first two episodes of one of the most anticipated series of them all, #daredevilbornagain :-) The most important question everyone is asking, including yours truly, Spot of Nerd… How was it?! And not only how was it… But how does it compare to its LEGENDARY counterpart that premiered nearly a decade ago on #netlfix?! The honest to God answer… Not BAD. Not GREAT. The biggest thing I can emphasize is to not think this series will ever live up to its original content. It simply can’t. There are LEGACY television and movie series that will live on well past you and I’s expiration date. #breakingbad for example. #theexpanse is another example in the Sci-Fi genre… With Daredevil: Born Again, we still get a comic accurate, same cast reuniting, albeit different ways of filming and overall production… Value. But it’s still missing something that even I can’t put my finger on yet… Yes, the CGI is obnoxious. It’s completely unnecessary. The tone is… OKAY. It’s still dark and gritty. At the same time it lacks serious dialog to keep you tuned into what is exactly going on… Don’t get me wrong, the original Netflix series was all about dialog… Yet with Born Again, it just seems like they don’t know what to do yet? Sure you have Kingpin and Daredevil reunited… But why? Something #disney needs to be very careful with this show is to not repeat past mistakes… One of them being REPEATING the exact same story arcs we’ve already seen before… This, and thinking out loud… But the repeating factor I believe is what’s going to make or break this series… Let me know your thoughts in the COMMENTS!
