He is a boxing legend. In his prime, he was considered nearly unstoppable. He had a fight record of 50 wins and 6 losses, with 88% of his wins coming from knockouts. So, how would Prime Mike Tyson fair against the animal kingdom. The animals in the video I mention are Chimpanzees, Black bears, Neanderthals, Red kangaroos, Mountain lions, Bengal tigers, American alligators, and Grey wolves. Chimpanzee: The average male chimpanzee, which weighs anywhere between 88-154 lbs, and stands just under 5 feet tall. So, Mike Tyson has nearly 100 lbs on the chimp. The chimpanzee's strength is very overrated and hyped up in the animal community. According to recent research, their muscles are about 1.35 times stronger than that of the average human of the SAME size. Professional human athletes, like Mike Tyson, are generally a lot larger than a chimpanzee on average. When chimpanzees fight, they tend to swing their arms aimlessly and like to leap at their opponents. However, they are very much pack animals. When chimpanzees fight their rivals or predators, they tend to fight in groups rather than one-on-one. Black bear: This famous bear lives all across North America. Males can grow anywhere between 130 -550 lbs. So, yeah, their weight is pretty variable and depends on their location. Male Black bears in Yellowstone National Park reach around 260 lbs. However, Black bears in Alaska and some parts of the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States can get much larger (300 lbs or more). Black bears are kinda timid and can be scared off, but when they are upset or angry, they can be pretty dangerous. Black bears have sharp claws and strong jaws. They like to wrestle when fighting. Neanderthal: These prehistoric humans were amazing, to say the least. They lived during the Ice Age, along with our direct descendants, and interbred with some of them. The average male Neanderthal stood about 5.6 feet tall and weighed around 170 lbs according to recent research. Neanderthals were a lot more robust pound-for-pound compared to the average human. They had wider ribs, a larger pelvis, and shorter limbs. They were likely stronger than the average human as well. An adult male Neanderthal where likely pretty battle-hardened. They had to constantly hunt food for survival, and defend their tribe from dangerous predators like bears and wolves. Red Kangaroo: Red kangaroos are larger than one may think; they got their name "Big Red" for a reason. A typical male Red kangaroo weighs between 120 - 200 lbs, and stands around 5 feet tall. However, Red kangaroos on the larger end can stand about 5 feet 10 inches tall, so about eye-to-eye with Mike Tyson. When Red kangaroos fight, they like to use their powerful legs to kick. However, they have small arms and have an exposed head. Mountain lion: The Mountain lion goes by many names (cougar, puma, and pather). Well, adult males weigh in around 140 pounds, and stand about 2.5 feet tall on all fours. So, Mike Tyson has a good 80 pounds on the cat. However, Mountain lions are deadly predators. They actively take down prey, some of which are larger than Mike Tyson. Cougars have sharp claws and teeth, which are useful when trying to hunt and fight their opponents. They are also very quick and agile. In fact, they are considered one of the most agile cats when referencing their anatomy; cougars have strong back legs that help them jump long distances. Bengal tiger: This is one of the largest cats in the world. The Bengal tiger needs no introduction to how powerful and dangerous they are. Tigers have razor-sharp claws and deadly teeth. Male Bengal tigers weigh anywhere between 368-515 lbs, with the average being around 420 lbs. And did you know Mike Tyson had a pet Bengal tiger? He even commented on how the tiger, when fully grown, would easily overpower him. American alligator: These beasts are scary and relentless. The crocodilian lineage survived on Earth for over 200 million years. So, suffice to say, alligators are very tough. Adult males average 11 feet long and weigh 500-600 lbs. They have one of the strongest jaws in the animal kingdom, but they tire quickly because they are cold-blooded. Grey wolf: How big are grey wolves? Well, mature males weigh between 80-110 lbs, and have a body length of around 5 feet. However, they have large, strong jaws, and sharp teeth that can easily sink into muscle.
