Speaking with TVP World, Ellias Aghili Dehnavi, a political scientist from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland's Poznań, said that neither Iran nor the United States are planning for a war right now – they’re testing each other’s patience and trying to gain leverage through deterrence. But he warns that a tiny miscalculation could unleash war, especially with military forces facing off in the Persian Gulf. Should a conflict break out, Dehnavi explained Iran wouldn’t try to win head-on – instead, it would exhaust its adversary using asymmetric warfare and regional pressure. The expert also added that any attack on Iran could trigger broad retaliation, including strikes on U.S. bases and even a blockade the Strait of Hormuz.
