I had an 8 year old Kinetik LiFePO4 battery not holding a charge, so I needed to remove that one. Then I moved the Deltran / Battery Tender from the Bonneville into the Suzuki. Also 8 years old, Now I'm putting the new Ionic battery into the Bonneville. It is also a LiFePO4 battery. Experience so far has shown even the batteries without BMS boards have lasted at least 7 years here in the Phoenix desert. Much better than the lead acid lumps with 3-4 year life spans. Cost was around US$110 in 2025. There is a button on the battery that needs to be depressed to wake it up from it's shipping or sleep mode. The APP, can do the same thing and also put it to sleep. I think... it is confusing. That needs to be done before trying to charge it up - lesson learned :) The APP does show some handy stuff but beware, it is a phone battery hog, so be sure it is turned off when you don't need it. It fit well in the triumph. Have not tried it with a cold start yet. Typically, cold starts are very slow with LiFePO4 batteries. Have to crank for 5 seconds, wait 20, crank 5, wait 20 . Eventually, the battery warms up and spins the engine over a treat. Just something new to learn
