One Shot, One Mic, One Song is owned and operated by Top Hill Recording Podcast https://anchor.fm/tophillrecording Drew plays an original he wrote called "Self Reliance". The Rules: One Shot - This has two meanings - One: enjoy a shot of a favorite beverage, and two: perform an original song from start to finish in one take. One Mic - Everything is recorded through one microphone. The performance may include as many performers, amps, and instruments as desired, but only one microphone. One Song - perform one original song Drew Crawley is a songwriter/singer based in Louisville, Kentucky. His roots run back to the red soil of Oklahoma, where growing up he fell in love with the sounds of country and Americana music - the likes of John Prine and many others. Drew plays a blend of what some call Dirt-Emo (sad music on acoustic guitars) and Country Disco. Drew describes himself as a wild boy at heart who loves to party on stage, but the thing he's most passionate about in the world is writing good songs and playing them with his best friends. Drew considers the greatest gifts he's been given through music to be that of hope, recovery, and redemption. He hopes that his songs will do the same for the listener. Self reliance Verse 1 Come of age at 25 There's so much you don't know Spent some years killin' time Tryin not to be alone Molded by a fire but not one that we lit You don't know what you don't know I know I don't know shit Verse 2 The voices that says I always answer to someone else Scared me into thinking I couldn't just trust myself Exposed all my failings and called all my fears as sin All this time confused and scared Cause I wouldnt let me in Chorus Couldn't find it on my own til it found me Built a house upon the stone but sand is free Self reliant feeling strong How the hell did I go so long Without this fire deep inside of me.
