The #ISA8-EXP-01 is the famous #expansion #board for the #Book8088 "modern retro computer" running MS-DOS. IN THEORY, the ISA8-EXP-01 should offer the possibility to add e.g. serial communications capability to the Book 8088 v1, which other than that would lack the RS232 serial port. IN THEORY, it should allow you to connect a mouse. IN PRACTICE, serial communication is unidirectional — INTO the Book 8088 only, mice are not recognized, and if you get the idea to power the expansion card, it will (i) short-circuit, if the center is ground, or otherwise (ii) blow its own capacitors or (iii) destroy the card connected to it. Utter garbage, do not recommend! First of two videos on this.
