All Idu Mishmi Students Union (AIMSU) and Idu Mishmi Cultural and Literary Society(Imcls)Landmark Visit to Singa Village: Strengthening Ties with the Idu Mishmi Community at Singa/Shemo at Upper Siang- the last village of Idu Mishmi.In a historic and impactful visit, the President Mr. Drone Linggi and General Secretary Chonga Linggi of the All Idu Mishmi Students Union (AIMSU), along with the Federal Spokesperson, AGS Protocol, and IMCLS members, embarked on a challenging journey to Shemo/Singa Village in Upper Siang District, the last village of Idu Mishmi.The team has engaged directly with the Idu Mishmi community in Singa/Shemo Village, the last settlement of the Idu Mishmi tribe. The team traveled for an arduous 20 (Twenty) hours to reach the remote village, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to the community.Led by AIMSU’s President and General Secretary, the visit aimed to strengthen bonds with the Idu Mishmi community. The team sought to understand the community’s needs and foster a stronger connection between AIMSU , IMCLS and the villagers and student community.Dr. Tilu Linggi(Imcls Executive Member) and Advocate Madan Mili, AIMSU’s Federal Spokesperson, conducted an awareness session on the Village Forest Reserve(VFR), land rights emphasizing the importance of preserving natural resources and the community’s role in sustainable development. This initiative highlighted the need to protect the village’s environmental heritage for future generations.The team also assessed the condition of defunct schools in the area, expressing deep concern over the low school enrolment rates and the migration of students in search of better educational opportunities. AIMSU recognized the urgent need to revive the educational infrastructure and ensure that children in Singa have access to quality education.In a show of support, AIMSU President promised to provide a DG set for the Singa community (Reko) hall, aiming to enhance local facilities for public gatherings and events. This commitment to improving infrastructure reflects AIMSU’s dedication to addressing the immediate needs of the community.Despite the challenges, including the 20-hour journey, AIMSU pledged ongoing help and assistance to the Idu Mishmi community. This visit signifies a long-term commitment to uplifting Singa Village through continuous support in education, infrastructure, and environmental conservation.AIMSU’s visit to Singa Village marks a pivotal step in their mission to support and empower the Idu Mishmi community. By addressing critical issues and fostering awareness, AIMSU aims to promote sustainable growth and development, building a brighter future for the village and bond between the students.
