Aachen Hbf + Aachen West + Yard (Germany) (DB) on 14th February 1996 I revisited the town of Aachen in Germany on a very cold and snow covered day, bringing along my friend, who just about froze (Whether that was from excitement or just the -5 C temperatures) We started off briefly at the main station (Hbf) where we saw our train pull away bound for Koln. Then we ventured to Aachen West where we found some shelter form a multi storey car park with a good view of the railway. After an hour there we sought permission from the Yard Supervisor to set up the camera near to the East of the Railway Yard opposite Aachen West Hbf (Station), then quite a small halt. There we witnessed loads of activity with car trains arriving and departing and many mixed freight, with a host of Electric and Diesel traction. Now and again a local service from the Nederlands would trundle by in the form of a 2 car. Aachen sits on the convergence of 3 countries. Germany, Holland and Belgium making this a very interesting location whatever the weather. Please enjoy the video and subscribe and like if you have done so. I hope you enjoy the series and if you are from the area or know the area featured that it will evoke many fond memories. Dedicated to my Hypothermic friend "Jamie" at the time of filming this video.
