Amy and Courtney show you a really amazing device called OBI. It's a self-feeding robot. If you or someone you know has difficulty independently feeding themselves, this is a tool you may want to take a look at. There are two switches right here on the OBI. The first switch will scoop down and take--fill up a bite for me. And then the second switch, you can move around to whichever compartment of food you want to eat. Press the first switch and the spoon is going to scoop up the red jellybeans, It also wipes off the back of the spoon, so it won't drip on you. And it will bring the food right to your mouth. You can program it to be at the right height for your mouth. Hit the switch again and it will bring it back down. To switch which bowl you're choosing from, hit our other switch and then move around. Oftentimes if someone's unable to feed themselves, they're reliant on a caregiver. And so, then the caregiver is really going to decide what they eat, how quickly they eat. With this, you know, you as the person using the device, can decide, I want to eat my beans now, not my carrots. And then you can also decide how quickly you want to eat. What if you can't use your hands? That's not a problem. These switches can be placed anywhere that a person is able to use them. So, it could be on a head array, could be next to their arms or their elbows. It could even be with the knee or the foot, wherever it is that they have that motion. The other thing I think it's important to mention is the spoon comes off very easily and the plate also lifts up easily. These items are both dishwasher safe. So, sanitation is certainly not a factor or a problem. Also, its battery powered so we don't have to be plugged in. • Product Link: https://meetobi.com/ OBI Robot Feeder • Demonstration videos: http://tinyurl.com/4bnxvy4b • Webinars: http://tinyurl.com/2uevcsnf • North Dakota Assistive • 800-895-4728 • https://ndassistive.org/ • [email protected] • INSTAGRAM: https://bit.ly/3K8OaR3 • FACEBOOK: https://bit.ly/44KfMnw • TIKTOK: https://bit.ly/43ysQeG • Minnesota STAR • 888-234-1267 • https://mn.gov/admin/star/ •To find your state or territory's Assistive Technology Act Program, please visit: https://at3center.net/state-at-programs/
