Death telephone is an electro-acoustic duo based in Amsterdam. Their immersive sound world is constructed through the acoustic sound sources of alto saxophone and piano, manipulated through feedback systems and live sampling. They exist in the intersection between the human and the machine; like a musical cyborg the physical bodies and instruments find new pathways through technological means, unraveling and observing the fringes of their musical language and human limitations with a poetical lens. Material and ideas are repeated on a microscopic level in which they seek resonance and destruction, creating bleak and melancholic soundscapes that ambulate between sparse minimal sounds and ecstatic outbursts akin to noise music.
