Solid wood, precise joints, hand-crafted beams and centuries-old techniques: a timber construction built according to Black Forest building traditions and inspired by historic granaries is an impressive combination of robust materials and masterful craftsmanship. Using only carpentry-style timber joints, the building requires neither metal screws nor nails and is a testament to impressive craftsmanship. Hubert Nowack, master carpenter from Rottweil, is someone who preserves and applies this ancient knowledge. Using chisels and mallets, Nowack and his employees in the factory yard work on each beam by hand, cutting it to size and forming precisely fitting joints such as mortise and tenon, leaf and tenon, tongue and groove. In weeks of meticulous manual work, the raw wood is transformed into a functional and aesthetic structure that will last for generations. It stands for the rich cultural heritage and exceptional architecture of a traditional craft, deeply rooted in the heart of the Black Forest.
