Since their introduction in 1972, tunnel services have become an absolutely fundamental part of Hong Kong’s extensive bus network. All three major franchised operators invest serious resources into tunnel operations, and in this video you will see some of the biggest and best new vehicles belonging to Kowloon Motor Bus, Citybus and New World First Bus (as well as some rather tired-looking older models!). As older types (like the Dennis Trident and Volvo B10TL) fade away, the Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 predominates, although the Volvo B9TL also puts in regular appearances. I have tried to show as many routes as I can, but – where coverage is thin – I have resorted to using a few specially selected clips from my previous visit in 2015.
