Truly a unique experience, the Top of the World Trail is the longest trail in the Whistler Bike Park and is definitely not to be missed or passed over. The views alone make it worth the time and effort. This trail is truly 'The Alpine Adventure' and one can't help but hope the Whistler Bike Park eventually builds more trails in the Peak Zone. Don't forget to check out what looks like a new trail at the end of Top of the World just before crossing over the bridge to the Garbanzo zone. As the trail is quite long, its been broken down by sections with more details on each respective section below. Please feel free to use the links below to quickly jump between sections. 00:00 INTRODUCTION - Roundhouse to Peak Chair Connector to Peak Chair. In and of itself a fun blast to the Peak Chair. 01:09 SECTION I - The steepest and rockiest, this stretch of pure Alpine trail can be quite treacherous with a few hairy exposed switchbacks thrown in for fun. Ending at the next fire road, this is definitely the toughest section on the trail with the most consequence should you mess up. 02:19 SECTION II - Beginning with more Alpine single track this stretch eventually meets up with the treeline. Once out of the Alpine, the rider is dumped onto a fire road leading to section III. 05:18 SECTION III - Still toying with the treeline, this stretch of trail continues to offer unbelievable vistas and some really fun single track, which swoops down the mountain side. This section opens up a bit with longer straight away sections where one can start to really open it up. 07:10 SECTION IV - Now firmly amongst the trees, this section continues very much in the same vein as section III. The single track just keeps going. Watch out - don't catch a pedal on one of the many rocks lying in wait for you! 08:40 SECTION V - Starting with some fun rollers that can be boosted or even doubled, this stretch of trail starts out fast! Again, watch the pedals, there are plenty of rocks hoping to catch you out. The entrance to Khyber's Pass can also be found here. 11:27 SECTION VI - HIGHWAY 86 - The penultimate section, this rocky and rough stretch of double track is otherwise know as Highway 86 to skiers. There are a series of river crossings, some of which, depending on the time of year, can be flowing quite strongly and can be quite deep: Watch out! The entrance to Ride Don't Slide can also be found here. 13:33 SECTION VII - Now firmly back in the sub-alpine, this stretch of trail veers off Highway 86 back into the trees. Mostly machine made, this is probably the most flowy section in Top of the World even offering a some small tables and of course plenty of berms. Watch out though, the turns can get pretty tight, the landings from the tables can be pretty short and pot holes have been known to develop in this section. This trail eventually reconnects once again with Highway 86 before spitting the rider out on Freight Train. 17:24 Creekside Trail expansion??? It looks like the trail crew's been up to more work as this trail entrance wasn't there last summer. If it is in fact new trails for Creekside it would add some serious vertical to that zone and would necessitate not only taking the Creekside gondola but also the Garbanzo gondola as well to reach this entrance. So cool - Garbo trails that go all the way to the bottom of Creekside? This video was filmed with on a GoPro Hero 4 black in the 4k 23.9fps Superview setting. Please watch in the highest resolution possible for the best viewing/audio experience. If you liked this video don't hesitate to drop a comment below, give it a thumbs up and subscribe!
