This vise was very far gone when I found it. It looked like swiss cheese and had holes all throughout it. It had been lying in a scrap pile for 10 years and was a solid block of rust. Nothing moved on it and it was heavily pitted. I had to redo everything on it. I patched the holes in the cast iron using my welder. I made new jaws out of stainless steel and made new bolts for the jaws out of stainless steel.
