A trip to Austin from Dallas | Old Baldy Park | Cypress Falls | Jacob’s Well | Wimberley

Today Friday we are going to Austin. Started around 7:40 pm and reached the hotel before 11:30 pm. It was a quick plan by Deepak to go to Austin. It is almost same distance for both of us. Not to the city side but to cover some other landscapes. La Quinta Inn & Suites a decent hotel near Austin with all basic amenities. Next day morning after a short walk we all had breakfast together. Now it is fun time for kids, they spend more than an hour in Swimming pool. Afternoon we are planning to visit some places nearby, it is 1:30 all are hungry, Sanju checked the restaurants near to our hotel and suggested a nice Mexican restaurant – Serrano'- 1 and half mile away from the hotel. After a delicious Mexican lunch, now we are going to Jacobs Well. It is 28 miles far and took around 45 minutes. It is a natural spring with clear water a busy swimming destination. Half mile to walk from parking area to reach this spot. Unfortunately, there is no water in the creek - it drained due to summer heat. This is the view of this spot when there is full of water. So, we recommend not to visit this location during summer. In the hot sun we somehow managed to back to the parking. We decided to go to another destination in Wimberley , Cypress Falls a swimming hole just 3 miles away from here. Beautiful swimming hole in the heart of Wimberley Texas. Open every day of the week, Cypress Falls is the perfect place to spend a hot summer afternoon. kayaks, tubes are all available for rent. Beer and wine are also available for purchase. We spend some good time here and moved to our next destination Old Baldy Mountain. Old Baldy Mountain featuring twin summits with both moderate hiking trails & steep inclines for mountaineers. Once at the top of the 218 rock steps, you'll be rewarded with 360-degree views of the Wimberley valley. Now time is around 6:30 evening, going back to our hotel. After driving 32 miles we reached our hotel. Kids again went to play in water, they had a fun till 10 pm, after that we went to Applebee's for our Dinner. When we finished our Dinner, it was around 12 mid nights. August 13th, Deepak and Sanju’s wedding anniversary today – ordered a small cake and celebrated the occasion from the restaurant. Next day morning after breakfast we are back to Dallas and Deepak and family to their place Houston. We all had a wonderful time here.
