The Draper Factory, located in Hopedale, Massachusetts, was once the largest manufacturer of automated textile looms in the world. It played a significant role in the Industrial Revolution that began in the Blackstone River Valley in the late 1700's and 1800's. In the 20th Century, as the textile business declined in New England, the mills that had once been so productive slowly went out of business. The Draper Factory closed in the 1970s, laying off thousands of workers. A huge building in the middle of a small town, it proved prohibitive for repurposing. In 2020, the process of demolition began. The process took more than a year. This movie includes background imagery and voice over and includes extensive footage of the demolition itself.
