We'd spent over two week's aboard our sailboat sailing towards the Azores. After finally arrived and were allowed to go and explore! I (Khiara) may have had an unknowing bout of cabin fever so when I was free to explore the land, I went a little crazy. We rented a car to check out the island of Faial and after a few pitstops for BEAUTIFUL scenery and flowers (my call), we got to our first destination... a volcano! We were soon to discover that the island of Faial had a rich history of volcanic activity... and astounding scenery to boot. We spent the day hiking and driving and in awe of this captivating island. The next day we made our mark of the island... literally, by painting our logo on the walls of the marina surrounded by thousands of other paintings of boats who'd also sailed to get to this place.
