Industry Careers for PhDs - Drug Discovery Research Careers

Are you a PhD student or postdoc interested in learning more about industry career options, both bench and non-bench? The goal of the event was to create a discussion platform regarding how one can use their PhD and postdoc training to launch a career in industry and the variety of R&D and non-bench career options. This event was hosted by INet-NYC with the MSKCC Office of Career and Professional Development in partnership and STEMPeers, volunteer-run organizations whose mission is to provide career development and networking opportunities for all international students and postdoctoral fellows in STEM fields who study/work in NYC. You will meet 12 senior and junior industry professionals working in a variety of roles in large pharma companies, who are based in the Northeast, West Coast, as well as other locations across the country and abroad. You will hear from scientists and other professionals (many of whom are international researchers who did their PhD or postdoc in the Northeast) whose jobs are connected to the process of drug discovery and development from different perspectives in both bench and non-bench positions. This video will show you 6 scientists working in various types of therapeutic development (small molecule, cell, gene), medicinal chemistry, AI and data science.
