We Built a Bathroom for a Family of 7 — and Gave a 13-Year-Old Girl Her First Bedroom

This family of seven had never had a proper bathroom. For years, they had to use an open-air toilet, and water had to be pulled from a well just to cook and drink. During the cold winter mornings, even washing their faces or brushing their teeth became something the children had to skip. Among the five children is a 13-year-old girl who had no private space of her own. So we decided to help. Over the course of 7 days, we built this family a new bathroom where they can finally wash and shower — even in winter. And we also transformed part of their home to create a small bedroom just for their daughter. For a teenage girl, having a clean and private space means more than just a place to sleep.
