In 1851, Harriet Tubman crossed the Niagara gorge and moved to St. Catharines, in what was then the British colony of Canada West (also called Upper Canada). Tubman is a familiar figure in American history, but the years she spent in the Niagara region are less well-known. The Heritage Center’s mission is to reveal authentic stories of Underground Railroad freedom seekers and abolitionists in Niagara Falls that inspire visitors to recognize modern injustices that stem from slavery and take action toward an equitable society The Museum is located at The Amtrak train station terminal exactly at the entrance of the terminal lower floor. Staffs are very nice and professional. Full of knowledgeable and atmosphere is very enjoyable to sho and learn about black history. Hope we have more places like that in the US.
