We fought the full moon and currents and did ok, catching a range of reef species and a good feed for the family. Big thanks to Captain @knotfishy for taking us out and putting us onto some great fish when the odds are stacked against us. Just be careful out there, whales seem to be migrating south. We had to quickly pull up our lines and move as they choose our path when there’s so much ocean space. Lots of red algae on the surface being pushed by northerly currents. Christened the new setup. Rod is a bit stiff to my liking but a good length for boat fishing chasing #snapper and #teraglin . The new reel feels great, smooth and sparkling. Setup with PE 1 mainline I feel much more confident playing big snapper over my previous setup using PE 0.6. Will I retire the PE 0.6 setup? Probably not as it does definitely get more hook ups!
